I'm getting big

Soo last week I decided to trick everyone and make them think I was ready to roll over. I rolled over ONCE on Feb 4 (which is my Oma's birthday). I haven't done it since then. I just wanted everyone to be aware it could happen again at any time! HAHAHA.... I am really having fun these days... I am playing more with my toys and am laughing constantly. My favorite toys right now are a ball that has lots of holes in it so I can hold onto it, a rattle, and a dragonfly that has all sorts of fun things on it. I hold onto these and shake them and try and put them in my mouth! I also am really starting to like my kitty Cruiser. He sits next to me and I pet him and sometimes I try to pull out his hair, but he just sits there and is nice to me! It has still been kinda cold so Mommy and Daddy haven't been able to take me on many walks. Mommy took me yesterday and it was kinda cold! She bundled me up and I was toasty so I fell asleep! Sleep... hmmm what a hard thing for me right now! I love to sleep but I also wake up 2-3 times at night and sometimes have a hard time falling asleep. Mommy decided to try and 'Ferberize' me... basically she lays me down, gives me a kiss, tells me its time for nigh night and walks out of my room... I cry and cry but only for a few minutes until she comes in and kisses me and tells me shhhh its ok baby, and then she lays me on my side and walks out again... Usually she just stays in my doorway to make sure I am ok... I try soo hard to calm down- I hold my hands together and suck on my henri... It works after just a few minutes and then I fall asleep... Mommy just started last night with this so hopefuly I can figure it out soon so that I don't cry as much and I can just fall asleep on my own! Then if I wake up at night I will just be able to fall back asleep! YEAH!!! That would make Mommy and Daddy sooo happy!!! Well I think that is about all of my news for now... I am trying really hard to get a tooth to come in but it is just causing me pain instead of poking through.. I will keep working on it tho!

South Carolina

I had my first trip to South Carolina this weekend!! Although it almost didn't happen!! We were planning on leaving Saturday morning to meet Nana and Papa there for a quick trip to celebrate their anniversary but then Daddy decided to get off work on Friday and go for a little bit longer! We left after Mommy came home from work and as we started down the road it started raining... then snowing... YUCK!!! Daddy was worried about driving in it and didn't wanna wreck since I was in the car... We drove to Dalton, Georgia (about 30 minutes away) and it wasn't getting better... We decided to drive on the interstate and it was fine! When we got to Atlanta it was 54 degrees and sunny out! I got tired of riding in the car after a while and we had to stop so I could take a break and get out of my seat. It took us about 5 1/2-6 hours to get to Columbia, and we checked into our hotel and Mommy and Daddy got food to eat for dinner. I stayed up for a little bit and then I got ready for bed. Mommy had a hard time getting me to sleep because I was soo interested in looking around at everything! In the morning Mommy put me in my bathing suit even though it was big on me, and we went to a big bathtub! Daddy held me and took me in the water. I wasn't sure at first- not upset or mad but just didn't know what to think of it all. After Daddy held me a bit Mommy held me and showed me how to splash. After she showed me how to splash I started kicking and splashing and loving the water! It was really fun! I didn't like getting out but I was tired and took a nap after we got back to our room! After I woke up we met Nana and Papa and went and saw Mommy's old house and where she went to school. It was cool to 'see' where she grew up even though I didn't really see it too much. We drove around downtown Columbia and we thought about going to a basket ball game but couldn't get tickets. We just went shopping at different places and got some South Carolina things. On Sunday morning we went to Mommy's old church- she hadn't been there in 11 years- and everyone was soo surprised at how grown up she was and that she had me!! I went to the nursery and everyone had so much fun with me even though I had a major blow out! I had to wear just a onesie without any pants!! haha oh well at least I'm a baby and I dont care!! I had such a good time on our trip! I wanna go back sometime when I can handle riding in the car a bit longer! Oh and I NEED a picture with a palmetto tree!! We didn't get to get one since it was raining!

4 month Doctor appointment

Today was my 4th visit to the doctor. I got fussy at first because they were busy and we didn't get called back right away... by the time we got to a room I was hungry!! Mommy took off all my clothes and I laughed!! Some lady put a weird thing around my head and said 17 inches... and then drew a line under my foot and above my head. She then measured it and said I was 26 1/4 inches!! Mommy was shocked! That means I have grown 6 inches since I was born!! Then the nurse listened to my heart and took my temperature. Mommy carried me out into the hallway and laid me on this thing and then the nurse said "you aren't gonna be able to use this one the next time you are here you are getting big!" She told mommy that I weighed 17lbs and 2 oz! I'm getting to be such a big boy! I got super mad after we were done with this and decided I wanted to eat NOW!! Mommy started feeding me and then Dr Betts came in and asked Mommy a few questions about me... He asked if I had rolled over yet... nope... If I was laughing... ALL THE TIME!!! and talking too!:) He was glad about that! He listened to my heart and lungs while I was eating. I am soo healthy! He said I could start eating 'real' food when I turn 6 months old! The nurse came back into the room and made me drink this weird stuff and then poked my left leg which wasn't too bad... then she poked my right leg and it HURT!!! I was very sad but only for about 10 seconds and then Mommy held me and told me it was ok. I did soo good!! Mommy was proud of me! I was being soo good so Mommy decided she would go to Bible Study tonite. I was happy when she left but got super sad while she was at her Bible study. I was getting sore from my shots and was tired. I went right to bed after I got home! I love to look at the basketball on my bumper pad and try and touch it. I stare at it while I am falling asleep. Mommy thinks maybe I will be a basketball player. Especially since I am getting soo tall!:) I am excited because we are going to South Carolina this weekend! I have never been there and neither has Daddy! Mommy is excited to show us where she grew up and went to school! I will let you know how it goes and maybe we will take some pictures!:)

sleepless nights... eventful days!

So since we have hit the 4 month mark sleep is just not happening! Aaron has decided that he needs to wake up every 2-3 hours to eat and let us know he is a growing boy! This has been rough on all of us as we were used to sleeping until about 5 am before Aaron woke up! I don't know if it is because he is teething or just hitting the infamous 4 month no sleep period! I've been reading up on it and there is just soo much going on in his little body that it is hard for him to stay asleep like he did before! I am hoping we can work through this and teach him how to fall back asleep when he wakes up in the night and not have to get up and feed him or give him his 'henry.'- for those who dont know that is what we call his paci :) So enough of my perspective here is what Aaron has to say---

I like to take naps at night and see my Mommy and Daddy with funny hair and stumble around with me! I really think I need to eat all the time and make sure my tummy is always full!! I am growing and want to make sure Mommy can keep up with me! :) I have been busy talking constantly! From the moment I am allowed to wake up in the morning until it is bed time I am making some sort of noises! I love to sing and laugh! I am happy most of the time unless I am hungry or my teeth are hurting me! I haven't had a tooth pop thru my gums yet but I love to chew on my fingers and anything else I can put in my mouth! On Sunday Mommy put me in an outfit that she said was my Daddy's. It was too cold outside for me to just wear it so she put more clothes on top of it! When we got to church Mommy and Daddy had my picture made as well as with my Nana and Papa. I met a man that Mommy called Pastor Allen... She let him hold me and he talked to Mommy and Daddy and me. He blessed me and asked if my Mommy and Daddy would raise me to be a man of God. I smiled at him and he thought I was a chunky boy!

I had a few bites of milk off of a rubbery thing Mommy called a spoon the other day. It tasted kinda funny and I couldn't figure out how to get it off the spoon. I ended up getting all wet and Mommy gave me a bath and I kicked and splashed!

OH and I have a new FAVORITE movie! I got it from my church after I was dedicated. It is called Praise Baby and I raise my hands and praise Jesus while I watch it! It is a great movie! I love it!

Well that is about it for now... hopefully I will start to sleep some more and let Mommy get some more rest. I do enjoy taking a nap with her in the afternoon though!

My Christmas Presents from Mommy & Daddy

It has been about a month since I had my Mommy write about my life!! I have been a busy boy! After the week my Nana came to see me my Mommy stayed home with me! I wish she could do that every day but I have fun with my Daddy too. I celebrated Christmas with my Mommy and Daddy on December 19th. I had my Daddy take me to the store so I could get my Mommy a necklace of a little boy with my birthstone. She really liked it! I went with my Mommy to get my Daddy a bucket from the Home Depot and we got all sorts of fun things to put inside of it! My Mommy and Daddy gave me some nice pj's with a matching hat and a cow that you can put shapes in as well as my favorite- a silver spoon with my initials on it! I held onto it and am excited to be able to use it in a few months! A few days after that Christmas we went on a trip to see my Nana and Papa in Alabama! This was my first trip to see them and I was excited to go to Alabama! I got my Nana and Papa to myself at first and then my counsins and aunts and uncles came to see me too! Then I had Emma, Luke, and Caleb to play with and hold me as well as Kristy, Barry, Melissa and Ewell! It was soo much fun but I sometimes couldn't handle everyone holding onto me and had to just lay in my bed alone! I slept really well in my pack-n-play! It was my first time to use it and I really enjoyed it! Every time I was set down in it I would laugh and talk! One night my Mommy decided I needed a bath and she got me ready in the kitchen. My daddy thinks that I need to stand on the counters and I thought this was too funny to be in my diaper and standing on the counter! My Nana laughed at me and I laughed back at her! It was really fun! My Nana makes me laugh a lot !!! One night my Daddy kept talking to my Oma and Opa on the phone... I didn't know why but then the next day we went to church and they were there! I don't know how they got to Alabama but I was excited to see them! They came to my Nana and Papa's house for a little while and then we went back to my house. They stayed at my house for almost a week! They took me and my Mommy shopping and gave me lots of presents for Christmas! I had 3 Christmas' this year! It was a lot of fun! One day my Daddy had to go to work early and my Mommy was still at work so my Oma and Auntie Audrey watched me! I was a good boy for them and didn't cause too many problems! I was sad to see my Oma and Opa and Auntie leave but my Mommy said we'd go see them sometime soon! After they left I got really fussy and started chewing my fingers a lot! Mommy thinks that I might be getting a tooth but we will have to see if anything pops up! I hope I didn't leave anything out! I will try to be better about having Mommy write about my days! Thanks everyone for your Christmas Presents! (I've worn my pj's from Jeremy and Lindsey already!)

I have been soo busy with my family and everything I haven't had time to tell whats been going on! I went to my 2 month doctors appointment at 10 weeks old and I weighed 14lbs 12oz! Ive also grown to be 23 3/4 inches long! I am really growing! I had so much fun with my family for Thanksgiving! My Nana and Papa came to see me as well as my Aunt Kristy and Uncle Barry! I watched them make the food and then I went on a walk after everyone stuffed themselves! When everyone was playing games my Nana decided she needed some help with a game and gave me a pen so I could help her write down some answers! I was a good helper! We went shopping the day after thanksgiving and my Mommy carried me around in a snugglie ( a carrier that I sit in on the front of her), and then Kristy decided she wanted to try it out and carried me around in it for a while! Barry even tried to carry me in it but I fussed a bit and so he decided Kristy was better at it! I went to my first movie on Friday night, we went to Blindside! It was a really good movie and I enjoyed it but when it was bout 3/4 the way through I decided I was tired of sitting so I cried and Mommy had to stand up and hold me the rest of the movie! On Sunday I went to this strange class at church! Mommy called it the nursery. There were some other kids that were about my size but a little bit bigger than me but Mommy said I would be ok and she and Daddy left me there to play with the other kids! I was good and only started crying when it was time for them to come and get me! I might go again this week and see if any new people are there! THis past week my Daddy had to work during the day so my Nana came to take care of me! She watched me on Tuesday -Friday! I had soo much fun with her! She sings me all sorts of silly songs and tells me "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands!" I am not quite sure what to do yet but she shows me and I smile at her! I helped her and Mommy make a puzzle too! I love to smile and laugh at her so we have a fun time! Thanks for watching me Nana!! I will miss you next week! I also have really enjoyed looking and talking to my Christmas tree! Mommy and Daddy decided they needed to put up the tree in our house even though they usually don't put it up! I LOVE to sit and watch it and have conversations with it each morning! My kitty Cruiser thinks it is a toy and gets in trouble a lot for playing with it but I love it!

Some of my new tricks are: Standing up on peoples laps and looking around! I love this and it usually calms me down!

I completed 24 sit ups today! ( my highest amount before was 12)

I eat my hands all the time and today I really noticed them and was looking at them and inspecting them rather than just eating them!

Nana said I am reaching for items! Mommy hasn't seen it too much yet but I am working on it!

I am sleeping 5-8 hours at a time at night! Mommy is glad for this but she wishes that it was 8 hours more nights! :)

I guess that is about all for now! I wanna roll over but can't quite figure it out yet! I will try and keep everyone posted on my happenings! I am going to try and write my Christmas letter tonite but I don't know how much I will get done!

9 weeks

I am getting soo big! Mommy measured me the other day and I am almost 24 inches!! She weighed me too and I am about 13 lbs if not more! I am going to the Dr next week and we will get some exact measurements but I am for sure getting bigger! I didn't have a too eventful rest of last week. I love spending my mornings with my Daddy and he is really enjoying it with me too! He has figured out how to hold me and sing to me to calm me down!I am trying to be really good for him but some days I just have a bad day and cry... I have recently discovered my fingers and hands! I LOVE to put them in my mouth! I am holding onto different things as well as being more aware of what is going on around me! I am talking to people a lot more and making lots of sounds and smiling a lot! I also have been working hard during tummy time and am holding my head up soo good now! My Mommy put me in my bumbo seat last night and I sat up holding my head up for quite a while! Then I realized I was in this plastic seat and didn't like it any more! I really like to stand up in peoples laps too. When I am getting upset if you stand me up I get really happy! I do my situps every day and so my tummy is getting stronger too! On Friday Mommy and Daddy decided that we would go on a short trip and at first we were going to go to Sieverville or something like that and go to some stores but then they decided that we would go see my Aunt Kristy and Uncle Barry! We left on Saturday morning and drove to Lebanon Tennessee. We drove through some mountains and Mommy was nervous about having some rocks fall as lots had been falling earlier in the week. We made it through without any problems. Mommy was soo glad we went too because she got her Dunkin Donuts for breakfast! (even though they didn't have the best kind- maybe next time) We went shopping at the outlet mall and then hung out at Kristy and Barry's house. We even went on a short walk! While we were getting ready on Sunday morning Mommy was feeding me and I starting pooping and Mommy thought I was just tooting as she felt my diaper moving. Well surprise I pooped out of the back of my diaper and my outfit was covered! It even got on Mommy's pants! Mommy didn't remember she had packed me some other clothes so I just wore my pj's to church! Good thing that they were cute! Mommy thought of taking me to the nursery since I had just ate but she couldn't leave me with anyone else yet... I loved the music like always and did soo good in the service! Some girls came up to me after the service and had to tell me how cute I was and that they saw my hair during the service and had to come see me! I had a fun time visiting Kristy and Barry and can't wait for them to come to my house again for Thanksgiving! I visited Mommy at work on Monday and got to meet a couple more people that work with Mommy! Everyone says "I can't believe how much hair he has!" One person said 'no white baby ever has this much hair!' hahaha well I do and I am white!! :) It was a good week and I am glad that I am getting stronger and can hold up my own head! (even though it makes Mommy sad that I am growing up so fast!)
